Leeds West Indian Carnival currently needs to fill three freelance posts. We are recruiting two Project Assistants and a Volunteer Coordinator for a 10-week work opportunity at Carnival Headquarters. We are delivering a short-term project, “Covid-Readiness of Carnival Headquarters & Heritage Assets Preservation” funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under its Heritage Emergency Fund scheme. You would be part of a team working to re-organise Carnival Headquarters; preserve, organise and store carnival costumes and other heritage assets safely and to ensure proper health & safety protocol for using the building and co-working spaces during and beyond the covid-19 crisis. Leeds West Indian Carnival 2020 goes Virtual

For more than half a decade the highlight of August Bank Holiday weekend has been Leeds West Indian Carnival. Sadly due to the ongoing pandemic and corona virus restrictions this year we won’t be on the road we’ll be on the internet…a virtual carnival to keep people safe and keep the celebrations alive. Make room in your living room, backyard, garden or wherever you will be.
